TWA Retired Pilots Association

Welcome to the TWA Retired Pilots Association Website

PLEASE CLICK HERE TO SEE TREASURER'S FINAL REPORT.

Let us explain who we are, and what we do.

WHO — Membership in the TWA Retired Pilots Association is open to any Cockpit Crew Member, past or present, of TWA and any acquired, acquiring or merged Airlines, such as Ozark, America West, PSA, Piedmont, American, Allegheny, US Airways, etc. of the “Old” TWA. Our approximately 900 members range from young current TWA/AA pilots to some who flew Ford Tri-Motors in the '30s.

WHAT — TARPA was founded in 1979 by retired TWA pilots who wanted to create an organization to provide a social, recreational and non-profit entity with a primary goal of helping members maintain friendships formed while flying for TWA and to assist pilots nearing retirement with the transition to the new life. In September 2015, the Association's name was changed to: TWA Retired Pilots Association.  (On Dec 31, 2021 our Association was officially dissolved.  The Website will continue for the near future.)

HOW — We offer several ways to reach our objective. First, we publish a world class, widely acclaimed magazine "TWA TOPICS" and it is produced twice a year. "TWA TOPICS" contains stories about members' current and past activities, stories about TWA and industry issues, and updates on "Association" activities. We also publish a membership directory, bi-annually, containing addresses, Email addresses, and telephone numbers of all members and subscribers. Second, perhaps most important, we convene an annual gathering in various cities around the country and select cruises. Our conventions are open to all members, family and friends, and provide the opportunity to get up close and personal. We routinely have around 300 people in attendance, members, spouses and guests. Third, we offer the www.TWARetiredPilotsAssociation.com website with timely updates on all association news and links to numerous other useful sites.

ANNUAL TWA Retired Pilots Association CONVENTION   TWA Members are invited to the GREY EAGLES ANNUAL CONVENTION in To Be Announced for 2024: www.thegreyeagles.org

The TWA Retired Pilots Association — Is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of five Executive Officers and four Directors. There are several committees to provide assistance and suggestions for the Board of Directors.  (The Association was dissolved on December 31, 2021 due to decreasing membership and increasing costs.)
